Tony Fleming Circumnavigates Iceland!
Tony Fleming has embarked on another "Voyage of Personal Discovery," as he cruises his new Fleming 65, Venture II, from the southern coast of the UK along the western shores of Scotland on his way to Iceland. Tony and his captain, Chris Conklin, have been planning this exciting voyage for the past 18-months and are joined by family, friends and members of the boating press. Follow Tony's voyage.
Tony describes his ambitious voyage as follows: "Basically we went from Southampton along the south coast to the Scilly Isles. Then we headed to Cork in Ireland, Isle of Man, and the Scottish mainland south of Glasgow. After visiting Jura, Mull, Oban and Skye, we stopped at Stornaway and then the Faroe Isles. From there we headed to the Westmann Islands off the south coast of Iceland before arriving in Rejkjavik. We'll then cruised the fjords on the NW corner of Iceland and eventually circumnavigated the entire country, crossing the Arctic Circle on our way to Grimsey Island.
We'll be back to Jura for my 75th birthday. We'll then head back to Southampton to put Venture II in the Southampton Boat Show while I fly to Annapolis, Maryland to attend the Fleming Rendezvous at Burr Yacht Sales."
